Cleansing is performed by immersing the electrode in a special cleaning solution. The electrode must be kept clean, and the calibration checked regularly and adjusted over time. When the electrolyte is depleted (typically in 12 to 18 months), simply swap the replaceable cartridge with a new one and you are good to go!
