Our spectrophotometers and photometers with pre-recorded methods

Our automated options include high-resolution UV and PRIM and UVILINE visible benchtop spectrophotometers, as well as the PHOTOPOD, an affordable and portable photometer that can be connected to the multi-parameter device for ODEON probes or to a PC for automatic reading of water quality tests.

Spectro Description

Photometers

Simplify the reading of your water quality tests with the PHOTOPOD photometer, a portable, automatic, and affordable option. It offers 50 chemical parameters, including COD, nitrogen, nitrates, etc., and can be easily connected to multi-parameter devices for ODEON probes or to a PC. The lightweight, sturdy and waterproof PHOTOPOD is practical and reliable.

Visible Spectrophotometers

Discover our spectrophotometers in the visible range: PRIM and UVILINE 9300. The UVILINE stands out with high resolution and exceptional precision due to the reference beam, ideal for water quality analysis using its pre-recorded methods and accessories. The sturdy and ultra-compact PRIM is ideal for teaching and features a pre-aligned lamp for easy maintenance.

UV Visible Spectrophotometers

The Uviline 9600 UV Vis Spectrophotometer offers exceptional versatility for water analysis, covering both the UV and visible range. Featuring pre-recorded methods in the visible range and UV extension, it allows precise estimation of essential parameters such as organic matter at 254 nm, thus expanding your analysis capabilities.

Use of reagents

Reagents for pre-stored methods for the Uviline Spectrophotometer and Photopod Photometer are supplied as separate kits: «liquid test module», «solid test module» or «tube method». This sets them apart from other chemical kits we manufacture.
The reagents are packaged in bottles (liquid), pills (solid) or pre-dosed tubes (ready-to-use liquid).

How to use reagents efficiently?

General tips
• Before ordering reagents, it is advisable to read the operating instructions for each method to anticipate the possible purchase of optional accessories. These are not included as standard, as they are often already available at our customers’ premises.
• Uviline module test kits contain only reagents. The Photopod offers starter kits (reagents + accessories) and reagent refills.

• A general accessory kit is available (1KA050) for the Uviline.
• A general accessory kit with liquid or solid test modules is available (NA-ACC-C-00016) for the Photopod.
• Liquid reagents are more economical and have shorter lead times than solid reagents, but they require more storage space.
Recommendations for using pre-dosed tubes
• The pre-dosed tubes cover the following parameters: COD, Total Nitrogen, Ammonium, Nitrates, Nitrites and Total Phosphorus.
• To measure COD, total nitrogen and total phosphorus, a heating reactor (1RD010) is required to digest the sample. Accessories: Bracket for 24 Ø16 tubes and wooden clamp.
• Automatic pipettes are recommended for pre-dosed tube methods because they allow multiple samples to be prepared quickly. Consumables : Pipette tips.

How do our spectrophotometer and photometer methods work?

Spectrophotometers and photometers measure the amount of light absorbed by a liquid sample as the light passes through it. The concentration of various parameters can then be calculated using the relationship between absorbance and concentration.
Our Uviline spectrophotometers and Photopod photometers are pre-programmed with 50 parameters optimized for water analysis. To analyze any of these parameters in a water sample, chromogenic chemical reagents are added to the sample to react with the analytes, forming a colored compound. The instruments use internal calibrations to correlate this color to the concentration of the measured parameter.
Colorimetry is recognized as one of the most common and effective methods to quantitatively analyze various parameters related to water quality.

FAQ sur les spectrophotomètres et photomètres

SPECTRALAB is a free downloadable multilingual software, offering 5 measurement modes Absorbance/Transmittance, Concentration, Multi Wavelength, Spectrum Scanning and Kinetics. It offers a user-friendly and intuitive interface, allowing full control of the instrument and its accessories.

PRIM spectrophotometers can store up to 50 methods. Data can also be stored on a computer using the free SPECTRALAB software.
Uviline spectrophotometers offer internal storage of 100 methods, 30 graphs, and 1000 results (approx. 5000 individual values, 500 spectra and 400 kinetic curves). Data can also be stored on a USB stick depending on its capacity or on a computer using the free SPECTRALAB software.

- Absorbance/Transmittance: Absorbance or transmittance can be measured relative to air or to a reference solution defined by the user
- Concentration: Up to 10 standards. The calibration curve equation or the factor value can be entered, as well as Absorbance/Concentration value pairs.
- Multi-Wavelength: Reading of up to 10 wavelengths with related formula. Ability to integrate additional variables (volume, pH, temperature) and to check if a value meets a condition.
- Spectrum Scanning: Display of dynamic graphs, zoom, point marking, peak and trough detection, curve comparison, determining the peak area, derivation, and other evaluation functions.
